Meet the Team
“I had a unique entry into the world of homebuilding: Wrestling & racing.”
Max Thomusseit grew up in St. Paris, Ohio then attended the University of Pittsburgh to become a Division I wrestler. Hendrick Motorsports recruited Max to join their team in North Carolina. Max moved to the area and began working on Jimmie Johnson’s pit crew. He went on to win as part of the 2016 NASCAR Championship Cup team. At the time Max was living on - of all things - a houseboat. His weekend renovations caught the eye of a local homebuilder. Max then joined the builder’s team and constructed more than 80 single family homes in the region. Today, Max is building his own homes in Sedgefield & Myers Park. Outside of work Max is still an athlete and continues training. He enjoys hiking and traveling on the weekends. Max is excited to have found his home in South Charlotte, but he’s even more excited to help others do the same in his high-performance homes.
Meet Ben
“I have lived in Charlotte my entire life, and this community provided me an excellent environment to develop my passion; home building.”
Ben Thompson was born and raised in the Barclay Downs neighborhood of Myers Park. He attended Selwyn Elementary, Alexander Graham Middle School, and Myers Park High School. After High School, Ben graduated from the University of South Carolina where he studied Ancient History. Upon graduation, Ben returned to his lifelong passion of construction and real estate. His Great Uncle was a contractor on Martha’s Vineyard, his father is a real estate agent in Charlotte, and his Grandfather was a multi-family real estate developer in Charlotte. Ben joined the Maverick team in January 2023. He was excited for the opportunity to join a field that he felt “Is my dream job and a field that I was born to enter”. Today, Ben spends his weekends with family and friends in his home city of Charlotte, NC.
